Klas Electrical has completed extensive electrical work on our two homes in Summit for the past nine years. In the Winter and Spring of 2005, they completed a full turn-key, electrical retrofit/upgrade, including lighting and security, during a five month gut home renovation of our previous home. In the Fall of 2011, they completed a major renovation on the main floor of our previous home installing a full audio and visual system with limited disruption to our daily activities. In the Winter of 2012, they completed a turn-key installation of a state of the art automated lighting system, including all new wiring and lighting, along with a full Audio and Visual system throughout our newly purchased home. Importantly, our home generator operated flawlessly from the first loss of power during Hurricane Sandy until the restoration of power to our home 12 days later! Klas Electric does great work and is very customer oriented! They did our exterior lighting when we first moved into our house, and installed our generator, which we had put in after Hurricane Irene. We purchased our 20kw Kohler standby generator from Klas Electric in late 2012, after “Sandy” left us with no power for almost a week. We shopped around and decided on Klas for several reasons.
First of all Ray Klas responded quickly to my phone inquiry. Believe it or not some people took days to respond and one I actually called back to see if they were even interested.
Second, Ray Klas made an appointment to call on us and go over the pros and cons of different brands, the size options, depending on what circuits we wanted to cover, and answered any questions we had.
Third, they are local, if you need service, you want somebody who is close, and will respond quickly.
We found that the crew at Klas were easy to work with, kept us informed as to the progress of installation, are neat and clean, thoughtful, nice people. In short we recommend Klas Electric and Kohler generators.
Since Sandy we have had only one outage that lasted 3 hours. The power went out and the Kohler kicked in, in ten seconds. Everything, including the central air, worked as if we were on regular power.
